Video introductions are a natural part of life for online classes like MCO 426: Digital Media Literacy: II. I wanted to share this video as an example for students producing videos for their next blog assignment. I thought this would be a good spot to share more details about life outside the classroom. I also wanted to show some scenes from my time as a full-time journalist and newsroom manager. The summer before I started my Ph.D. program at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, I worked as a digital producer for Cap Radio in Sacramento. I miss working in newsrooms.
I still enjoy filing radio essays for stations like KJZZ Radio in Phoenix.
I shot the beginning and end of this video with my iPhone, attached to the tripod on a self-stick. I used Adobe Premiere to edit the video because of our free Adobe Creative Cloud account through Arizona State (details to access the free account are on the Syllabus). Honestly, Adobe Express is a free video editor that also works well for simple videos and edits.
